Jiu Jitsu is for everyone. People at all levels of fitness can try Jiu Jitsu and by adopting it as a lifestyle you will form healthy habits and make positive lifestyle choices that increase your fitness levels.
We take hygiene standards very seriously at UDA, and we vacuum, mop and disinfect our gym each night after training. We also communicate our gym etiquette rules to everyone
All our instructors have current Working with Children’s Checks and are very experienced training our youngest members. Children’s safety is paramount to us, and our priority is to create a safe environment for children to learn and develop their skills over many years.
For your own development, we recommend training at least twice a week as the minimum requirement. If you’re able to train 3 - 5 times per week, you will see much faster progress in your fitness, techniques and understanding of Jiu Jitsu.
We recommend that everyone takes a trial class, to see how they go. After this, if all goes well, check out our membership options to join. We don’t have any contracts, enrolment fees, or upfront payments, so you can cancel anytime and resume anytime. Just get in touch with us and we can help you out.
Yes, we do and we have lots of families training at UJJ. Navigate onto the individual UJJ mini sites to find out membership options for families.

Coach is amazing and the team is very friendly.finn williams Unreal place! Highly recommend for any individuals looking to learn a new skill, gain confidence, learn self defence or the art and techniques of proper Brazilian jui jitsu. Awesome staff, Professor James is a real master and professional of the game - nothing is given, everything is earned. Highly recommended this gym!Tom Healey A true team environment made up of people of all ages, backgrounds & skill levels. There is no ego & everyone comes together to better themselves & their team mates. The coaches, led by Professor James, are first class and give so much to their students, going over and above to help everyone - no matter the age or level. Couldn’t be happier. Go the RoostersJesse Raymond Been training here for around 3 years, I can confidently say this is one of IF NOT the best jiu jitsu gym around! Firstly, the coach actually cares, James knows everyone’s strengths and weaknesses and he’s very passionate about his work. James is the perfect balance of making you feel comfortable and welcomed mixed with strict rules and discipline. One of the biggest problems in modern jiu jitsu gyms are the grading systems that are in place because a lot of gyms grade you on time which is far from accurate just to keep you paying your weekly wage. When you get something rewarded to you, you really feel like you earned it which is rare nowadays. 10/10 gym and honestly changed my life from age 16-18.Robert Cooley FiveStar professor James is a passionate and legit teacher. If you’re in the neighbourhood check this school out . Highly recommended regards Rob 9th Dan tkd 1st degree GJJAndré Boldrin What a environment! People are very friendly, mats and installations are very clean and tidy. James is very skilled and professional instructor. Highly recommended.
